Ecosystems Project
A pathfinder is just the beginning of building your bibliography. Ask Ms. Schmidt if you need help finding more sources.
Focus Questions:
Why are ecosystems, which are typically stable, recently changing so dramatically? What are humans doing to cause these changes? What are humans doing or could humans do to correct some of the damage? What could happen if we don’t act?
Reference materials:
Reference books offer short, authoritative information on every topic.
Ms. Schmidt created a Resource List in Destiny, the book catalog. To access a list of books in the WHS LMC and links to selected websites, go to the WHS webpage. Under the ACADEMICS tab of the WHS page, choose Library Media Center (LMC). From the LMC homepage, choose Destiny. From the left frame, choose Resource Lists and then open the list called ECOSYSTEMS. To view the items, you have to switch from MY LISTS to PUBLIC LISTS. These tabs will appear on the right side, near the middle of the page.
You can search for additional titles by doing a keyword search using the online catalog (Destiny). Try searching "ecosystem" or "biome" or your biome. Heres an example of what you might find:

Log into any of these databases by choosing the DATABASE tab on the WHS LMC webpage.
Passwords, for in school and at home use, are listed first. You need to log on to the password page with your school gmail information.
